The next stop on our Christmas Style featuring Little Lizard King patterns has us traveling to the western United States to wintery Utah!
Christmas in Utah is magical! The mountainous terrain and elevation usually mean December is cold and snowy, and there's definitely a good chance of a white Christmas. Many families ski and go sledding to enjoy the wintry conditions and... what better way to end a day out in the cold than with a mug of hot cocoa?! The cities are all filled with dazzling displays of Christmas lights and cheer. Traditionally many families go to the symphony or to the Nutcracker ballet to celebrate the festive holiday season. Spending cherished time with loved ones is the heart of this time of year.
Anna used the Wimberley pattern to create this lovely holiday dress for her little girl! The bodice of the Wimberley is designed for knit fabrics so this comfy dress is one her daughter will love to wear. This dress works just as well for a trip to the tree farm to choose a Christmas tree as it does for an evening at the ballet. She used a gorgeous rosebud tulle to create the skirt overlay. To complement the skirt, Anna trimmed the bodice tucks with a coordinating lace. The red sash tied in big bow is the perfect finishing touch and adds just a pop of contrast to the holiday look.
Anna did not stop with just one Wimberley dress for this magical season. For a different look, she lengthened the skirt of Wimberley’s gathered circle skirt option, sewing it without a ruffle tier and using the simple bodice for clean lines yet sweet style. Christmas in Utah is simply joyous!
