Meet the Designer - Kellie Lindgren

I live in central Utah with my Husband Indi; and my two boys Jude (6) and Finn (4). When not sewing or drafting, I love to go hiking and swimming with my family.

Creativity has always been a driving force in my life. I feel my truest self when creating. I come from a long line of quilters and grew up around sewing and quilting throughout my life, most of the women in my family quilt. I have vivid memories of everyone getting together to help hand quilt a large blanket and making a whole event over it.

I have always gravitated towards visual arts. It wasn't until my second son was born, that I taught myself to sew. I was so proud of the first pair of little leggings made. From there, I continued to learn, and grow my skills.

I have always had a hard time accepting my body; I'm 6'2" and curvy. It wasn't until I learned to sew for my body that I realized there is nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't fit the industry standards. Being able to make my own, well-fitting clothes has been a game-changer for me.

I have stayed true to the artist in me, while sewing, designing and drafting. I treat every design and sewing project as an art piece, trying my best to get every little detail right. I love all different kinds of fashion and want to try them all. I’m not afraid to mix colors and prints in unexpected ways and cannot wait to bring the Styla team some fun, new patterns!
