Benicia for The Changing Season
I know you feel it. The chill is in the air as the temperature drops. I know you can see it. The slow turning of leaves changes from green to red, orange, and then brown. The slow march signals that winter is coming.
Little Lizard King Benicia has been one of my favorite patterns ever since its debut earlier this year. As the weather changes, so must my Benicia. The short sleeve, simple neckline option can transition to a long sleeve cowl neck dress or top.
Just as the dress options change, so too do my fabric choices. In the spring and summer, I love wearing double brushed poly and jersey, but in the winter where I live, temperatures can drop below zero; my fabric choices change to sweater knit or cable knit.
When I created this mommy and me long sleeve, cowl neck sweater dress and top, I used a denim blue cable knit fabric from KnitFabric.com. The soft, chunky knit was perfect. It features a two-way Stretch and is 81% polyester, 16% viscose, and 3% lycra.
I used this fabric to create my daughter's beloved chunky sweater. I paired her shirt with the New Heaven leggings and a modified Seattle Beanie. Not only is she warm but she is also stylish and appropriately dressed for the season. I can create a custom style with the various options offered by LLK Benicia pattern.
For my sweater dress, I used the same fabric from KnitFabric.com, but I chose the simple long sleeve, cowl neck dress option. Pairing my dress with knee-high boots gives this outfit a unique flair that will carry me through the winter months.
I can dress it up or stay casual; the key is to choose suitable fabric for the season.
