Bristol and Newport in My Heritage

My Heritage by My Mind's Eye for Riley Blake Designs is not only a subtle collection of prints, but it features the softest color palette.  When searching for the perfect patterns to accent this fabric, it was apparent this fabric needed to be turned into something simple with a couple sweet details.  LLK's  Bristol and Newport patterns immediately came to mind.

Bristol, designed for woven fabric, has a steep curved bodice giving the skirt a vintage length front hem also creating the perfect high-low effect for Newport shorts to peek out.  Bristol is stitched up in My Heritage Main Teal fabric.  Bristol has an amazing 3/4 sleeve featuring a bold bias tie which was used to incorporate the My Heritage Grid Cream fabric.

Once Bristol came to life, it was time to move on to Newport.  Newport is a gathered bubble shorts including a regular cuff, button tab, ties or a simple elastic leg casing.  To keep it simple, the regular cuff seemed perfect to pair with this Bristol top.  Newport was sewn entirely in the My Heritage Grid Cream.
