Holiday Edition - Australia
The next stop on our holiday tour of Christmas Around the World is Australia!
The timing of Christmas during the Southern Hemisphere’s summer season results in Christmas traditions and styles that revolve around warmer weather!
Leading up to Christmas, towns usually have their own Christmas parade and carols by candlelight. Often this happens pretty late, as Christmas sunsets are around 9.00 p.m. in the southern latitudes.
A traditional Christmas in Australia involves a Christmas Day lunch with family, serving fresh prawns, a glazed ham and pavlova of course!
Christmas is always a pretty hot day, so the afternoons are spent swimming, or the kids run under the sprinkler and play games in the backyard. Many Aussie families play cricket or spend the day at the beach. There is nothing more Australian than a beach Christmas!
Bec chose the Jersey romper pattern for her daughter to enjoy her Christmas in Australia. Made from knit, the romper is both comfortable and cute - ideal for an outdoor, active, and very hot holiday!
The Jersey romper for girls and women provides a perfect palette for running and playing on a warm summer day - especially when Christmas is all about being outside enjoying the sun, sand, and surf!
For her little man, Bec made a sweet little short sleeve Andover from knit fabric. It’s a perfect style for little guys who are running and playing and keeping up with big sisters!
