What Does the Fox Say!?!
We know how much you love the Animazing skirt pattern with all the adorable animal face add ons. So, we thought you might enjoy having a fox face for a few dresses. Today we will show you how to use the free fox mask pieces on the site to create adorable fox face Bristol and Amsterdam dresses year round!!
Let's start with Bristol. Print and cut the bodice as normal. In addition, print the free fox mask and cut 2 mirror image sets.
Place one mirror image mask set, right sides together Sew along the inside curve with 1/2" seam allowance.
Flip the pieces, along the sewn edge, so the wrong sides are touching. Press.
Place the mask pieces on the front bodice main. Topstitch the finished inner curve. Position Baste to secure along the outer raw edges. Follow the directions in the pattern to finish the dress. Add a button nose and eyes upon completion! Get creative and use the face pieces as the base for another animal. In addition, the Bristol sleeves could be omitted and the construction could be competed with the burrito roll method for a sleeveless version.

With this Bristol dress, I love the fact that the fabric colors worked perfectly for a fox dress or a raccoon dress (gray). Riley Blake's Heart & Soul collection was exactly perfect for this project!
Get creative and use the face pieces as the base for another animal. The same pattern piece was used for both dresses but simply changed the fabric colors to change up the animal -- from a fox to a raccoon.
Suffice to say -- everyone's happy!!!
To create the Amsterdam fox, cut the bodice pattern pieces as usual. In addition cut out 2 fox mask pieces. Place the mask pieces right sides together and sew each curve with a 1/2" seam allowance.
Turn the mask piece right side out and press.
Position the mask on the front main bodice and pin to secure. Baste in place along the finished curves.
Follow the construction direction in the pattern and embellish it when you are done. Amsterdam also has an adorable romper option so it can be made into a romper as well. Get creative with your embellishments! And if you want you can even make a matching animazing messenger bag!!!!
