As long as I can remember, my family has always cut our own Christmas tree. This tradition is one of my favorites that I have adored to continue with my own children. After traveling high into the mountains, we spend an afternoon hiking and searching for the one, perfect Christmas tree.

Jude and Finn insisted on wearing their Lassen pajamas, the heavy double brushed poly kept them warm and cozy through the whole adventure. We explored through what felt like the whole forest until we finally found a truly beautiful tree. It is carefully cut down, carried back to our vehicle and brought back to our home.

After a cold afternoon in the mountains other time to warm up. My boys helped me make hot chocolate and warm cookies while my husband got the tree into its stand and watered. We spent the remainder of the evening decorating our family Christmas tree and listening to festive music. It was the most joyous start to the Christmas season for my little family.
