Nottingham in Give Thanks

Fall is finally here and with the changing season comes all the fantastic holidays that go with it. There is truly no better time of year than this!  Getting to enjoy time with friends and family, seeing the changing color of leaves, trading the heat of summer for that cool crisp air and my most favorite part, coming quickly, is Thanksgiving.  Though this year might look completely different for a lot of people on Thanksgiving, one thing remains the same; that is sewing all the amazing patterns and beautiful fabrics for those special Thanksgiving outfits.

When thinking about the perfect Thanksgiving outfit, one that could be worn the rest of fall, I turned to the beloved Riley Blake Designs for the perfect fabric choices. Knowing they always have the perfect prints for every holiday, I began my search and quickly found exactly what I wanted in the Give Thanks Collection by Sandy Gervais.  Featuring flowers, leaves, pumpkins, and acorns in rich fall colors, I had exactly what I was looking for to embrace some of my favorite fall colors.

Next, I had to find the perfect Little Lizard King pattern to feature these beautiful fabrics and that was a no brainer! I quickly had my sights set on Nottingham.  This precious pattern features a dress and top option with several hem options for both, but I chose to keep it simple to really see the gorgeous colors and prints of the fabrics chosen.  For this dress I chose to do the simple dress hem with long sleeves and knit cuffs.  Featured on the bodice is the Give Thanks Main Cream fabric and on the skirt portion, is the Give Thanks Plaid Olive fabric.

And of course, no outfit is complete without the trusted Nara bow which comes as a sweet little bonus with the Nara top and dress pattern.  I sew the Nara bow for every outfit, since the pattern release, because it is an incredible scrap buster and can be whipped up in a matter of minutes which is perfect for a last-minute person like me.  Nara bow is shown in Give Thanks Plaid Olive.
