Lucerne Sew Along - Day 4

Lucerne Sew Along Day 4 Good Morning Y’all!!! Today we will need our Center panel Pieces. You can choose between the Simple/Horizontal or the Chevron Pintuck. I will be using the Simple/ Horizontal Pintuck piece. You will need to cut 1 Simple/Horizontal on the fold or 2 Chevron Pintuck pieces. Refer to pages 16-20 of the tutorial for more details on constructing your Panel Pieces.

Once you have your Panel Piece constructed and cut, it is now time to attach the Pintuck center piece to the 2 side bodice pieces. Now you have your front main bodice completed!

Attach your back bodice pieces to the main and lining like the tutorial states. If you are adding the optional neck and armscye ruffles refer to the tutorial pages 20-22 how to prepare them and then continue to the pages 30-32 to see how to attach them to the bodice.

Now you’re DONE with your Lucerne bodice!! I can’t wait to see your finished bodice!!

Lucerne Pintuck Bodice Sew Along Day 3

To Construct the Pintuck and Chevron Pintuck insert, you will need to follow page 16 in the tutorial. Grab your ruler and fabric marker. Please be sure that the fabric marker you will be using will erase and wash out. I like to use my handy 3” FISKARS and water soluble ink pin.
I like to make my marks on the wrong side of my fabric. I can’t promise myself that I will sew my 1/4 to cover all of my marking so I’d rather be safe than sorry. Lol

After I make all of my marks, I will take another color marker and mark on the right or left side raw edge at my one 1” mark and continue with every other line.

Note: you will have 1” between each mark. This helps me to recognize that every dark marking will be folded and sewn with a 3/8 seam allowance.

Continue folding, pressing, sewing to create Pintucks down the panel piece. When you have reached the end, and you are DONE with your Pintuck panel!!! Whoop whoop!! You can move to the next step!!!

Don't forget to upload a pic of your progress in the album into the Facebook Group  to be eligible to win 5 Little Lizard King Patterns of winners choice!

Thanks again for sewing with me! See ya tomorrow!!!

Lucerne Sew Along - Day 2

Today we will be assembling our pattern pieces and cutting out the fabric! So if you haven't purchased the Lucerne pattern yet, now it is the time!

When you are finished cutting, you should have 2 front side bodice pieces as mirror images (2 main), 4 back bodice pieces as two mirror images sets (2 main, 2 lining) and 1 front bodice lining from the pieces provided. You will also need to cut out the paper pattern piece for the center panel. Choose between horizontal or chevron. However, do not cut this piece of fabric yet. Just keep this pattern piece nearby.

The rest of the pieces will be cut from the cutting charts. You will need to cut a piece of fabric for the center bodice piece. This will be cut as a rectangle so we can make our pintucks on it. Refer to the Pintuck cutting chart and cut 1 Pintuck center bodice piece from the cutting chart (choose between horizontal and chevron pintucks). Choose what skirt option (or romper, for baby) and cut the additional pieces needed.

Tomorrow we will be constructing the Pintuck!! I’ll see you then!
